For Nigeria’s Independence Day, Regal Dry Gin wanted to join the national conversation. But instead of another generic “Happy Independence Day” message with a bottle visual, I wanted to create something more meaningful. Something that spoke to who we are as Nigerians and how we celebrate life.
Regal Dry Gin is a brand built around enjoyment. It encourages people to relax, connect, and have a good time. At the same time, Nigerians are naturally expressive, proud, and full of life. Our Nigerianness is loud, colourful, and impossible to hide. I saw an opportunity to celebrate that identity in a fresh way.
I flipped a familiar statement.
Instead of “It’s easy to spot a Nigerian,”
I made it a celebration of why being Nigerian is special.
This led to the campaign line “Jaiye Ori E” and the concept “1,960 ways to enjoy life the Nigerian way.”1960 marks Nigeria’s year of independence. I turned that into a playful expression of endless ways to enjoy life, culture, and community.

The campaign focused on:
Celebrating Nigerianness
Pride in our identity
The joy of living and connecting
Enjoyment as a shared Nigerian experience
Regal Dry Gin became part of the celebration, not just a product placed beside it.

I delivered the campaign through:
Independence-themed creative assets
Social media content celebrating Nigerian traits
Visual storytelling built around “1,960 ways to enjoy life”
The campaign line “Jaya Ria” used across all touchpoints

The campaign reframed Independence Day messaging from a standard greeting to a proud celebration of Nigerian identity and enjoyment. Regal Dry Gin stood out by tapping into cultural pride, not just patriotic colours.
